Job summary

Mercy South seeks an experienced RN First Assistant for the Main OR to support perioperative care. You will apply the nursing process, coordinate patient care with anesthesia, surgeons, and nurses, and uphold patient rights and Mercy standards throughout the shift.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, active RN license in Missouri, and at least 1 year of perioperative nursing. BLS/ACLS within first year; CNOR or RN-First Assistant preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Active RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum 1 year perioperative nursing experience.
• BLS/ACLS required within first year.
• CNOR certification and/or RN-First Assistant certification class preferred

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
• Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Demonstrates continued competence in perioperative nursing.
