Job summary

Mercy South is seeking an RN First Assistant to join the Main OR team. The role requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program and active Missouri RN licensure, with at least 1 year of perioperative nursing experience.

BLS/ACLS certification is required within the first year, CNOR/RN-FA coursework preferred. Applicants should demonstrate ongoing competency in perioperative nursing and assist with coordinating patient care across departments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program required.
• Active RN licensure in Missouri.
• Minimum 1 year perioperative nursing experience.
• BLS/ACLS required within first year.
• CNOR and/or RN-First Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
