Job summary

Mercy South is seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant for the Main OR. You will utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care, assist surgeons, and coordinate perioperative activities to optimize outcomes for our patients.

The position requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, active RN licensure in the state, a minimum of 1 year perioperative nursing experience, and BLS/ACLS within the first year. CNOR and RN-First Assistant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 1 year perioperative nursing experience.
• Active RN licensure in the state of practice.
• BLS/ACLS required within first year.
• CNOR certification and/or RN-First Assistant certification class preferred
• Demonstrates continued competence in assisting and in perioperative nursing.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
