Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in perioperative care to provide high-quality pre/post-anesthesia nursing. The role includes patient assessment, IV access, and coordination with anesthesia and surgical teams.

The position offers a day shift with on-call duties, a 24-hour work week schedule, and competitive benefits. The PACU environment emphasizes safety, education, and patient advocacy throughout perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Required: Associate of Applied Science in Nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Required: Current RN license in the State of Oregon, BLS/PALS/ACLS, & TNCC.
• Preferred: Conscious sedation certification, CAPA/ CPAN certification, Ultrasound Guided IV certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing assessments in pre and postoperative care.
• Initiates and manages intravenous access.
• Monitors vitals and reports changes per medical guidelines.
• Administers medications using the 8 rights of safe medication practices.
• Assists anesthesia with nerve blocks and perioperative planning.
• Maintains sterile technique and infection control throughout perioperative care.
• On-call for PACU on a regular scheduled rotation.
• Documents care and collaborates with the surgical team.

Education

Associate of Applied Science in Nursing

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Current RN license in Oregon

BLS/PALS/ACLS

TNCC

Conscious sedation certification

CAPA/ CPAN certification

Ultrasound Guided IV certification
