Job summary

Hawthorne Health is expanding its Home Network and seeks dual-credentialed Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers to work per diem as independent contractors. You will travel regionally to patient homes to perform in-home cardiac and vascular imaging studies, with per-visit compensation and travel reimbursements.

This role requires active registrations and BLS, plus reliable transportation and self-sufficiency. The work is field-based and flexible, with imaging guidance per protocol and ASE

Qualifications

• Active registration in both cardiac and vascular imaging (e.g. RDCS or RCS plus RVT or RVS) through ARDMS or CCI.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel regionally.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech-savvy with digital tools.
• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings.

Responsibilities

• Travel locally or across state lines to patient homes to conduct visits; volume varies by region.
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participant.
• Perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging studies per protocol.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging.
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper labeling for cardiology review.
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments.
• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
