Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Per Diem PreOp care. This role supports perioperative patients in our ambulatory setting and requires flexibility to cover shifts as needed.

The ideal candidate has ICU/ED/L&D or Emergency experience and is able to cover at least two shifts per month. You will assess preoperative status, monitor patients, and contribute to perianesthesia planning and handoffs with the team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year ICU, ED, PACU, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state licensure to practice nursing in good standing.
• BLS or BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification may be required if pediatrics is included in scope.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative status at intervals per facility policies to include cardiovascular, respiratory, neurologic and hemodynamic status.
• Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of common diseases and anesthesia-related physiology.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and communicate status across the care continuum.
• Provide patient safety through positioning, equipment use, and adherence to universal precautions.
• Provide accurate hand-off reports to teammates with concise, pertinent information.
• Document care completely and maintain professional nursing standards.
• Participate in quality review, performance improvement, and team meetings.
