Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a per diem Pre- and Post-Operative Care nurse to support perianesthesia services in our Irvine area centers. The role involves assessing patients before and after anesthesia, monitoring vital signs, and coordinating care with the surgical team to ensure safe recovery.

The ideal candidate will have a nursing degree, current licensure in the state, and BLS/ACLS (and PALS if pediatric care is included). Flexible scheduling supports our focal patient care approach.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• BLS or BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification if pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per policies.
• Interpret information from monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of disease processes.
• Develop individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Provide hand‑off reports to teammates.
