Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Preoperative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice nursing.
• Successful completion of BLS or BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS is required when pediatric care is included in scope.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status according to policies and procedures; monitor cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic status.
• Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors.
• Describe disease pathophysiology and anesthetic considerations.
• Apply discharge criteria and develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Manage patient care including anesthesia recovery, monitoring, positioning, infection prevention, and safety.
