Job summary

ProMedica Phlebotomist position involves collecting specimens for procedures and performing testing while caring for patients before, during and after collection.

You will execute pre-analytic tasks including centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution and packaging, ensuring strict asepsis and accuracy.

You may use QA data to improve services and assist in training new associates or students, with a focus on patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy training diploma or 1 year phlebotomy experience required.
• Clinical rotation of at least 3 weeks in a hospital/phlebotomy setting completed.
• Preferred professional registration (PBT ASCP).
• 1 year experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens for procedures and perform testing as required.
• Perform pre-analytic tasks: centrifugation, decanting, distribution and packaging.
• Use QA data to improve services and suggest procedural changes.
• Assist training of new associates or students.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Diploma from accredited phlebotomy training OR 1 year phlebotomy experience

Clinical phlebotomy rotation (3+ weeks)
