ProMedica Fostoria Hospital Association is seeking a per diem Phlebotomist to collect specimens and perform testing while caring for patients before, during and after collection.

You will perform pre-analytic tasks such as centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution and packaging, using quality assurance data to enhance services and address quality issues. Training new associates or students may be required as a leadership responsibility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute or 1 year phlebotomy experience.
• Successful completion of a clinical phlebotomy rotation in a hospital setting.
• Professional registration preferred (e.g., PBT(ASCP)).
• 1 year experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment.

Responsabilités

• Collect products and/or specimens for procedures and perform testing while caring for the patient before, during and after collection.
• Perform pre-analytic tasks including centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution and specimen packaging.
• Use quality assurance data to improve services and address quality issues and patient satisfaction.
• Follow asepsis and antisepsis principles and assist in training new associates or students.
