Job summary

ProMedica Phlebotomist at Toledo Hospital collects specimens for procedures, and performs testing while caring for patients before, during and after collection. Pre-analytic tasks include centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution and packaging.

You will use quality assurance data to enhance services and address quality issues. Applicants should be familiar with test names and abbreviations and follow asepsis/antisepsis principles.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute OR 1 year phlebotomy experience.
• Completion of a clinical phlebotomy rotation program in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Collect products and/or specimens for procedures.
• Perform pre-analytic tasks for sample preparation (centrifugation, decanting, distribution, packaging).
• Use QA data to enhance services and address quality issues.
• Train new associates or students using leadership skills.
• Follow asepsis and antisepsis principles and reference test names/abbreviations.
