Atrius Health is seeking a Lab Associate to collect blood and non-blood specimens, prepare samples for testing, and provide information on laboratory procedures. The role requires careful handling of specimens, accurate labeling, and adherence to safety and quality controls.

The position offers per diem hours with responsibilities that include preparing equipment, assisting with point-of-care testing, and supporting a collaborative laboratory team in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent evaluation by CED/NAEG.
• Graduation from a Phlebotomy technical training program preferred.
• CPR and Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology from prior practice.
• Proficiency in Lab Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilidades

• Collect blood specimens for laboratory testing using venipuncture and other approved methods.
• Collect non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum and throat swabs.
• Verify test requisitions for accuracy and route discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
• Assemble and prepare equipment for tests and ensure specimen labeling accuracy.
• Communicate test orders and patient instructions clearly and compassionately.
• Perform basic waived or moderate testing and maintain equipment quality controls.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and restock supplies as needed.
• Assist in training student interns and new staff.
