RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Per Diem Night RN for the Medical Surgical Unit VI at RWJ New Brunswick. The role emphasizes high-quality patient care, clinical collaboration, and ongoing professional development.

You will join a 30-bed unit providing comprehensive care with a focus on safety, documentation, and continuous improvement. Per Diem Night shifts offer flexibility and opportunities to build strong patient relationships.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or completed within 5 years of hire.
• National Board Certification and ACLS preferred or obtained within 6 months.
• Prior 1–2 years of RN acute care experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers.
• Educate patients and families to prepare for next care phase.
• Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to drive smooth transitions of care.
• Collaborate in a highly relational team to improve outcomes.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through education and clinical ladder opportunities.
