RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Per Diem Day Shift RN for the Medical Unit-III at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick. The role requires an active NJ RN license, BLS, and prefers a BSN with ACLS/NBC certification.

Typical day includes patient assessments, safe care delivery, and collaboration with physicians in a fast-paced, team-based environment. The per diem position offers weekend/holiday rotations, 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or to be completed within 5 years of hire.
• National Board Certification and ACLS preferred or obtain within 6 months of employment.
• 1–2 years RN acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes early.
• Administer medications and provide hands-on care per evidence-based guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to support coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly to prepare for the next care steps.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate effectively.
