Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Somerset, NJ seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Medical-Surgical Unit-II on a per diem night shift. You will deliver high-quality patient care, perform assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe transitions.

Active NJ RN license, BLS and ACLS, and at least 1 year of acute care experience are required. ASN or Diploma RN is acceptable; BSN preferred with commitment to pursue within five years.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• ASN or Nursing diploma required; if ASN or Nursing diploma, must complete BSN within five years of hire date
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred
• 1 year of acute care experience required

Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing clinical changes
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers
• Providing education to patients and families
• Ensuring accurate documentation within the EMR
• Contributing to interdisciplinary rounds and transitions of care
• Collaborating in a highly collaborative team environment
