Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a per diem night shift. The role combines direct patient care with staff recruitment activities, communicating with physicians, Nurse Manager, Director and colleagues about patient condition and diagnostic results.

Requirements include 2 years ED experience, active RN license in the state, BCLS, ACLS and PALS within six months of hire; ENPC and TNCC optional.

Qualifications

• 2 years ED experience required
• Current RN license within the state of practice
• Current BCLS certification
• ACLS certified within six (6) months of hire
• PALS within six (6) months of hire
• ENPC and TNCC optional

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Performs a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Assesses and reassesses pain, utilizes appropriate pain management techniques, and educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Uses triage processes to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients and accurately assigns triage categories.
