Job summary

UCI Health is seeking an Emergency Department Staff Nurse Leader to oversee clinical functions, nursing practice standards, and patient care delivery on the unit. The role directs staff, coordinates throughput, and maintains clinical expertise in accordance with policy and regulatory guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have RN certification in Emergency Nursing, 4+ years in ED (or related telemetry with ED experience), and the ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• RN Specialty Certification in Emergency Nursing or an Acute Care Certification.
• Minimum of 4 years recent clinical nursing experience in an emergency department or 4 years of Medical Surgical Telemetry with 1 year in ED.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversees clinical functions related to patient care and nursing practice standards.
• Directs staff and unit activities to coordinate patient throughput and care delivery.
• Acts as a role model and clinical resource to staff and patients and provides break relief coverage.
• Ensures adherence to patient classification systems and staffing requirements.
