Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will handle a wide range of emergencies, from triage to critical care, collaborating with doctors and staff to deliver high-quality, compassionate care for pets and their families.

You should have a CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credential, 1+ year of veterinary tech experience (ER or specialty preferred), and be comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital with exposure to noise and odors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of practice is required; VTS in ECC/internal medicine/anesthesia is a plus.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person with care; support families during emergencies.
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Administer meds, monitoring, and IVs/CRIs, including transfusions and beyond.
• Communicate effectively with team and help shape care plans.
• Be prepared to perform CPR; RECOVER CPR training is valued.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubing placement.
