Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will work with doctors to provide gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care across a range of emergencies, from triage to critical care.

You will handle treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and nursing care while supporting pet parents in stressful moments. This role offers opportunities for growth, mentorship, and learning in a fast-paced veterinary ER environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the state of practice is required; VTS in ECC/IM/anesthesia a plus.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR/practice management software experience.
• Strong communication and composure under pressure; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person with care and stay by their side through tests, treatments, and discharge.
• Provide nursing care, emotional support, and handle emergencies from triage to discharge.
• Assist with diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to keep care flowing and plans on track.
• Perform CPR and use labs, imaging, IVs, CRIs, transfusions as needed.
• Utilize advanced techniques in your toolkit including central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds.
• Assist with anesthesia for fragile patients.
