Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team. You'll handle cases from minor to complex emergencies, collaborating with our doctors to deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care, performing triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.

This role offers growth in a fast-paced ER environment, with nights, weekends, and holidays on rotation.

Qualifications

• AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the state of practice.
• 1+ year of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency experience preferred.
• Proficiency with practice management software and EMR systems.
• Excellent communicator and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Provide nursing care and emotional support during emergencies.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to deliver gold-standard care.
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood products, and monitoring.
• Communicate with clients and team as a proactive teammate.
• Handle tests, imaging, sample collection, and specimen management.
• Operate advanced techniques and equipment as needed (e.g., central lines, endoscopy).
