Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our ER team on the front lines of care. You’ll handle a wide range of emergencies, work with doctors, and deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care for pets and their families.

You’ll engage in triage, treatments, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while growing your skills in a high-energy environment dedicated to outstanding outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of practice.
• Associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology preferred; AVMA accreditation favored.
• 1+ year of veterinary technician experience, especially in emergency or specialty medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Operate in emergency settings delivering treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring.
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions and advanced procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team to ensure smooth patient care.
• Perform CPR and manage anesthesia in fragile patients as needed.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection and catheters/tubes.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with diverse teams.
