Job summary

Salient Motion, Inc. in Hawthorne, CA is seeking its first dedicated People Operations hire to design and own the operational HR infrastructure. You will manage onboarding, payroll support, benefits, compliance, visa coordination, and partner with leaders to scale the talent function.

You will touch the full employee lifecycle, from candidate experience through day one and beyond, and help build a culture of engagement while ensuring policy compliance and accurate HRIS data.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a People Ops, HR Generalist, or HR Coordinator role.
• Experience with HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration.
• ITAR-eligible (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) and onsite in Hawthorne.
• Rippling, Greenhouse, Juicebox or similar HR/ Recruiting tools are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own HRIS administration, onboarding workflows, and data integrity in Rippling.
• Lead end-to-end onboarding, pre-boarding, Day 1 coordination, and 30/60/90 day check-ins.
• Administer benefits and open enrollment; coordinate with carriers.
• Ensure compliance (California and federal) and maintain required postings.
• Coordinate visa and immigration with outside counsel; manage petition process and document flow.
• Support payroll inquiries and ensure timesheets are approved before deadlines.
• Drive culture and engagement through pulse surveys and leadership insights.
• Own company policy documentation, including handbook and PTO policy.
