Job summary

Overland AI in Seattle, WA is seeking a People Operations Generalist to own day-to-day HR operations as the second hire on the People team. You’ll report to the Senior People Ops Manager and shape onboarding, performance management, employee relations, policy execution, and compliance to keep our fast-growing team supported and aligned.

You’ll build scalable processes, manage our HRIS (Rippling), administer benefits and payroll, coach managers, and partner with the Talent team on end-to-end

Qualifications

• 4+ years of HR generalist or People Operations experience in a fast-growing environment.
• Solid working knowledge of employment law compliance.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms like Rippling, Gusto, ADP, or similar.
• Experience managing benefits administration end to end, including open enrollment and working with carriers.
• Experience handling employee relations with empathy and good judgment: investigations, coaching managers, and navigating sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Own the onboarding experience end to end, from offer letters and I-9 verification to benefits enrollment, systems access, orientation, and check-ins.
• Administer benefits and payroll including health, dental, vision, 401(k), open enrollment, COBRA, and vendor relationships.
• Support employee relations and coach managers through performance conversations and investigations.
• Manage HRIS (Rippling) with accurate records, headcount data, and reporting.
• Run offboarding processes including exit interviews and final pay compliance.
• Build People Ops infrastructure with policies, handbook, and company-wide communications.
• Support performance review cycles and development plans.
• Partner with Talent on recruiting-to-onboarding handoffs.
