Job summary

SumUp in Milan is seeking a Working Student to join the People Operations team. You will support day-to-day HR administration and employee lifecycle activities, helping ensure processes run smoothly and accurately.

Ideal candidates are pursuing HR, business, or economics studies, fluent in Italian and English, with strong Excel skills and a proactive mindset to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently studying or recently completed studies in HR, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Fluent in Italian and English.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear communication and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, updating, and archiving of employment contracts and employee documentation
• Assist onboarding, contract changes, and offboarding processes
• Help manage employee benefits administration, including meal vouchers and related records
• Collect and validate payroll-related input data to support monthly payroll processing
• Respond to employee queries through internal systems and email promptly
• Maintain and update employee data in HR systems and Excel trackers
• Perform data checks and support simple reporting and administrative tasks
• Contribute to improving operational processes and documentation workflows
