Evlo AI is seeking a People Operations Specialist to own onboarding, HRIS administration, benefits, compliance, and employee records. You’ll ensure a reliable employee experience and scalable processes.

This role sits at the intersection of HR, finance, and IT, configuring HRIS workflows, reconciling headcount data, and building streamlined processes. You will report to the Head of People Operations and help shape how a fast-growing company runs its people function.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in People Operations at a high-growth company.
• Hands-on administrator with at least one major HRIS (Rippling, BambooHR, Gusto, or Workday).
• Working knowledge of US employment compliance (I-9, EEO, multi-state).
• Strong data skills: comfortable building and maintaining reports in Google Sheets or Excel; basic SQL or Looker a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Bonus: experience with Greenhouse/Recruitee ATS administration, HR automation tools (Zapier, Tray), or supporting an HR team through a company scale-up from ~100 to 500+ employees

Responsibilities

• Administer and continuously improve the HRIS (Rippling, BambooHR, Workday, or similar), including onboarding/offboarding workflows, org changes, and data hygiene
• Own the onboarding experience end-to-end: pre-boarding communications, equipment and access coordination with IT, benefits enrollment, and new-hire orientation logistics
• Manage benefits administration, open enrollment, leave of absence tracking, and related payroll inputs in partnership with the finance team
• Maintain compliance requirements across employment verification (I-9/E-Verify), EEO reporting, and multi-state employment regulations
• Build and maintain people analytics dashboards in Google Sheets or Looker covering headcount, attrition, and time-to-productivity metrics
• Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions on policy, benefits, and systems; triage and resolve or route issues efficiently
• Document and standardize people-team processes, eliminating manual work through automation and better tooling
