Job summary

SKIMS is seeking an Assistant Store Leader – People for the 5th Avenue Flagship in New York. You will work with the Store Leader to build a high-performing, inclusive team and ensure operational excellence and exceptional customer service.

You’ll own talent acquisition, onboarding, development, performance, and employee relations, while aligning staffing with store KPIs. This full-time role requires strong emotional intelligence and a people-first leadership style.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in a people leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of hiring, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management.
• Proactive talent needs identification and pipeline building.
• Experience handling employee relations with professionalism and empathy.
• Understanding of customer service and impact of people leadership on outcomes.
• Knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations.
• Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and trust-building abilities.
• Ability to coach and develop the team and manage labor planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a customer-obsessed mindset to deliver exceptional service.
• Own talent acquisition, outreach, interviews, and hiring with diverse pipelines.
• Proactively hire and maintain a bench of candidates for staffing needs.
• Drive results by linking staffing to KPIs and customer experience.
• Lead onboarding to welcome and set up new hires for success.
• Manage scheduling and labor planning to meet business demands.
• Identify training needs and build development plans for career growth.
• Support performance management and provide ongoing feedback.
• Manage employee relations with care and objectivity.
• Identify and develop future leaders and succession plans.
• Develop engagement strategies to celebrate diversity and connection.
• Ensure compliance with SKIMS policies and labor laws.
• Collaborate with Store Leader and HQ People & Culture on tools and resources.
• Model inclusivity and emotional intelligence in all interactions.
