CarePlus NJ, Inc. is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist to respond to adults in Bergen and Passaic Counties as part of the 988 Suicide Crisis Lifeline, providing non-clinical support and crisis de-escalation 24/7. The role focuses on mentoring and guiding individuals toward recovery.
You will collaborate with Crisis Response Workers, coordinate care, and help connect clients with ongoing mental health and SUD services, aiming to stabilize crises and reduce emergency responses.
Location: 1 Kalisa Way, Paramus, NJ 07652 and In the Community
On-site; 4-10-hour days (1 weekend shift) Wednesday-Saturday (8AM-6PM)
Hourly: Starting at $24.04

As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will serve as a member of a team that responds to individuals experiencing a non-life-threatening mental health and/or substance use disorder crisis when dispatched through the 988 Suicide Crisis Lifeline Call Center to adults in the Bergen and Passaic County communities on a 24-hour basis, 365 days a year. By utilizing your own personal recovery journey, you will offer non-clinical assistance and support beyond resolving the immediate crisis to stabilize and minimize the need for emergency service response. You will serve as role model, mentor, and motivator to help support consumers in their path to recovery and achieve long term success.
