Job summary

CarePlus New Jersey seeks a STAR Morris Recovery Specialist / Peer to support clients using their recovery journey. You will collaborate with case managers, clinicians, and prescribers to craft personalized recovery plans and provide ongoing encouragement in a community-based setting.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, two years of recovery experience, active recovery status, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalency; associate's degree or above preferred.
• Two years of experience in the guiding principles of recovery.
• At least two years in active recovery from a substance use disorder.
• PRS Certification or progress toward obtaining it required.
• Valid driver's license and must be insurable by the agency.

Responsibilities

• Attend mandated training to delineate peer role functions, competencies, and responsibilities.
• In collaboration with the individual, case manager, clinician, and/or prescriber, develop a Recovery Plan.
• Educate the individuals on how to navigate treatment, social service, and recovery support systems.
• Provide recovery support services based on the individual's preference and his/her/their assessed needs.
• Work collaboratively with the case manager to ensure the individual engages in services for up to a year.
• Reinforce, guide, and reassure the individual that recovery is possible and is built on multiple strengths, coping abilities, and the resources of everyone.

On-site / In the Community M-F: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm or 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Hourly: Starting at $45,000

Job Summary:

As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will use your personal journey of recovery to assist others. Work alongside other healthcare providers, including Case Managers, Clinicians, and Prescribers, to develop individualized personalized recovery plans and be a support system for our clients.
