Job summary

CarePlus NJ, Inc. is seeking a Peer Support / Recovery Specialist for the Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Center in Paramus, NJ. This full-time, on-site role starts at $22.00 per hour and requires certification or eligibility, with schedules covering nights and mixed shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
• Experience working in behavioral health setting.
• Current and valid CPR/AED (BLS) certification.
• CPRS/NCPRSS or certification eligible (DMHAS waiver determines ability to hire if applicant is not currently certified).
• Valid driver's license required and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance for primary drivers.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients in collaborative and caring relationships by assisting in the orientation process
• Maintain group and individual supportive interactions with clients, their families, and social supports
• Communicate effectively-using personal recovery story-to develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships and aid on the recovery process
• Provide recovery support by assisting clients in managing crises and encouraging exploration and pursuit of community roles
• Celebrate clients' efforts and accomplishments
• Share lived experience of recovery and ongoing personal efforts to enhance health, wellness and recovery.
• Provide linkages to services and community resources
• Complete all required documentation in a timely manner and using recovery-oriented language

Schedule 1: Tuesday into Wednesday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am, Wednesday into Thursday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am, Thursday into Friday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am, Friday into Saturday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am.

Schedule 2:Saturday into Sunday, 10:00 am - 8:00 am, Sunday into Monday 10:00 am - 8:00 am, Monday into Tuesday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am, Wednesday 1:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Schedule 6: Wednesday 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Thursday 12:00 pm - 12:00 pm, Friday 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Sunday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
