CarePlus NJ, Inc. in Passaic County is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist to join our On-site team.

You will leverage your personal recovery journey to support clients, working with Case Managers, Clinicians, and Prescribers to develop individualized recovery plans and provide compassionate care. You will complete required training, help educate clients on navigating treatment and social services, and collaborate to keep clients engaged for up to a year.

Formación

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Two years of experience in the guiding principles of recovery.
• At least two years in active recovery from a substance use disorder.
• PRS Certification or progress toward obtaining it.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability by the agency.

Responsabilidades

• Attend mandated training to delineate peer role functions, competencies, and responsibilities.
• Collaborate with individual, case manager, clinician, and/or prescriber to develop a Recovery Plan.
• Educate individuals on navigating treatment, social services, and recovery supports.
• Provide recovery support services based on individual’s needs.
• Work with the case manager to ensure engagement in services for up to a year.
• Reinforce that recovery is possible using strengths, coping abilities, and available resources.

Location: Passaic County
On-site/ In the Community FT 40: Monday- Friday8:00 am - 4:00 pm or 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Salary:Starting at $45,000

Job Summary:
As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will use your personal journey of recovery to assist others. Work alongside other healthcare providers, including Case Managers, Clinicians, and Prescribers, to develop individualized personalized recovery plans and be a support system for our clients.

What You Will Do:

• Attend mandated training to delineate peer role functions, competencies, and responsibilities
• In collaboration with the individual, case manager, clinician, and/or prescriber, develop a Recovery Plan
• Educate the individuals on how to navigate treatment, social service, and recovery support systems
• Provide recovery support services based on the individual's preference and his/her/their assessed needs
• Work collaboratively with the case manager to ensure the individual engages in services for up to a year
• Reinforce, guide, and reassure the individual that recovery is possible and is built on multiple strengths, coping abilities, and the resources of everyone.

What We Need to See:

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalency, associate's degree or above preferred.
• Must have two (2) years of experience in the guiding principles of recovery that assist individuals in improving their health and wellness
• Must be at least two (2) years in active recovery from a substance use disorder.
• PRS Certification or progress toward obtaining it required
• A valid driver's license and must be insurable by the agency's automobile insurance.
