Job summary

National Church Residences is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-oriented peer support and assist residents in Permanent Supportive Housing programs. The role emphasizes housing stability, self-advocacy, and community integration using WHAM/WRAP frameworks.

Candidates should have lived experience with mental health or homelessness and be prepared to collaborate with case managers, housing stabilization, and clinical teams to support individualized recovery goals.

Qualifications

  • Lived experience with mental health recovery, substance use recovery, homelessness, or other qualifying experience.
  • Experience providing peer support, mentoring, advocacy, or recovery support services.
  • Ability to facilitate peer support groups, recovery groups, and life skills programming.
  • Proficiency with documentation, HIPAA, and client confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group peer support services to promote recovery and housing stability.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers and Community Engagement Manager on recovery goals and service plans.
  • Assist residents with ADLs and use of community resources to support independence.
  • Facilitate resident programming, wellness activities, and life skills classes.
  • Support transportation to community activities and appointments as needed.
  • Document encounters, services, and progress in required systems.
