Job summary

Native American Rehabilitation Assoc. of the NW seeks a Peer Support Specialist to join the housing team and support participants in PSH units. The role centers on peer-led recovery, symptom management, and community-based services, working with families and single adults with chronic homelessness.

The position requires sharing lived experiences, facilitating access to services, and coordinating care under supervision. On-site work and collaborative teamwork are essential parts of the job.

Qualifications

• Must self-identify as a current or former recipient of behavioral health services.
• Complete a Peer Wellness Training and become certified within six months.
• Knowledge of mental illness, addictions, and physical health in integrated care.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Identify as a peer support role model and share experiences.
• Provide mentoring, advocacy, and navigation to daily living needs.
• Promote recovery through consumer self-help and cultural relevance.
• Assess PSH participants' service needs and adjust plans as needed.
• Offer direct clinical support in community settings and teach symptom-management.
• Assist with meal planning and nutrition education.
• Help with finances, entitlements, and transportation.
• Organize individual and group activities and coordinate care.
