Job summary

HOPE Arizona is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to help members advance in their recovery. You will provide coaching, role modeling and one‑to‑one/group sessions on site and in residences, supporting personal goals and coordinating with the treatment team.

You will guide participants through community resources, advocate for access to services, and maintain safe, clean site operations while demonstrating strong leadership and lived recovery experience.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High School/GED + 2 years’ behavioral health experience or Bachelor’s/Master’s in behavioral health.
• Graduation from Peer Support training, required within one year of employment.
• Must identify as an individual with lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorder, who has been successful in their recovery.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Valid Arizona Driver’s license with a clean MVR (no more than 2 moving violations or license suspension in past 3 years).
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Proof of negative TB test within the last year.
• Fingerprint Clearance, if required by program.

Responsibilities

• Relate own recovery process in a positive and supportive manner through coaching, role modeling and mentoring.
• Assist members in articulating personal recovery goals and determine steps to achieve them.
• Provide one‑to‑one and group sessions on site and in residences to support members’ goals.
• Navigate and use community resources effectively for members.
• Act as liaison between the member and the outpatient team.
• Support site operations including front desk, kitchen and facilities to maintain a safe, clean environment.
