Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Transitional Care Center on a night shift. This full-time, 0.9 FTE position supports high-acuity pediatric patients transitioning from ICU to home, emphasizing patient and family education and safety.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, follow established protocols, and maintain regulatory standards while focusing on age-appropriate, culturally inclusive care.

Qualifications

• Associate/Diploma RN with 2+ years of experience; if hired without BSN/MSN, must enroll in BSN/MSN within 1 year of hire date.
• Preferred: BSN or MSN from ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution.
• Active Ohio RN License; may be required to obtain other state licensure.
• Foreign graduates must have license validated through TruMerit per Ohio Board of Nursing code for Foreign Graduates.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety; monitor policies and procedures; complete certifications timely.
• Apply systems thinking to coordinate care and safety; communicate safety concerns to leadership.
• Document care plans, care delivered and patient/family outcomes; educate patient and family.
• Exercise clinical judgment following protocols; collect data and follow care plans.
• Participate in interprofessional teamwork and shared governance; advocate for patients and families.
• Advocate for patient rights and culturally inclusive care; ensure age-appropriate, family-centered practices.
• Collaborate with the team to provide comprehensive, developmental care for pediatric patients.
