Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a night-shift care helper in the PICU to support nursing staff with Plan of Care, patient supervision, and daily activities. You will help with routine tasks, transport, and de-escalation when needed, under RN supervision.

This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and timely communication with care teams. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent plus clinical rotation or state credentials, CNA/STNA or EMS registration, CPR certification,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with additional clinical or certification requirements.
• Completion of medical/surgical or equivalent clinical rotation from ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution is acceptable.
• Listed on Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA (reciprocity within 180 days if CNA is out of state) is required.
• Listed on Ohio or National Emergency Medical Services Registry.
• At least 1 year of patient care experience within the last three years.
• Requires CPR training and certification maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Plan of Care - Provide approved care of assigned patients under supervision of RN and assist with interventions.
• Communication - Demonstrate Cincinnati Children's CARES behaviors and document patient status and changes.
• Environment - Maintain a safe, accessible, and efficient environment in the division and comply with infection control.
• Administrative Support - Respond to alarms, answer phones, assemble charts, stock supplies, and assist in training new employees.

Education
