Qualifications

• Associate/Diploma RN required; if hired without BSN/MSN, must enroll in BSN/MSN within 1 year and complete within 5 years.
• Preferred: BSN or MSN from ACEN/ CCNE/ NLN CNEA accredited program.
• Active Ohio RN License; may be required to obtain other state licensure.
• Foreign graduates must have license validated through TruMerit per Ohio Board of Nursing rules.

Responsibilities

• Compliance - Patient Services Staff: maintain regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, ensure certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled, communicate safety concerns to leadership.
• Uses systems thinking: view patient and family in unit context, monitor safety and policies, share safety best practices with leadership.
• Clinical judgment: collect data, follow protocols, document plan of care and outcomes, ensure age-specific care and family education.
• Clinical inquiry & performance review: follow guidelines, pursue learning to improve patient care, seek help in unusual situations, engage in coaching and mentoring.
• Collaborates with team using shared decision making: participate in unit-based councils and decision making.
• Interprofessional Practice: integrate IPM in practice.
• Advocacy and inclusion: consider patient rights and cultural inclusivity in care.
• Patient Care - Age Specific and Culturally Inclusive: tailor care to patient age and development.
