Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse for full-time night shifts (7pm–7:30am), 36 hours per week, onsite in Akron, OH. The role emphasizes family-centered pediatric care, leadership responsibilities, and collaboration with the provider team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

The Staff Nurse will assess and direct nursing care, mentor staff, and participate in education, with a focus on evidence-based practice and systems-based care within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio is required.
• Years of relevant experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide comprehensive care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of pediatric patients.
• Lead and mentor clinical staff; participate in education for staff.
• Deliver patient-centered care and participate in quality improvement.
• Support provider staff and promote collaboration for efficient operation and quality care.
