Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse for full-time night shifts (36 hours/week, 7pm–7:30am, onsite). The role provides family-centered nursing care and requires strong leadership and collaboration within a pediatric team.

Responsibilities include planning, implementing and evaluating care, participating in teaching and quality improvement, and ensuring safe, evidence-based patient care. Ohio RN license and BSN are required, with BLS and EPIC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Ohio is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct family-centered nursing care.
• Provide care for physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs across all ages.
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties.
• Deliver patient-centered care.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety activities.
• Educate staff and may precept new employees.
• Engage in evidence-based practice.
• Support providers and promote collaboration and legendary pediatric service.
• Engage in systems-based practice and informatics tasks.
• May be reassigned within Akron Children's Hospital as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
