Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse for full-time night shift (7pm–7:30am), 36 hours per week, onsite at Akron, OH. The role provides nursing care based on nursing science with a family-centered focus.

Requirements include BSN or enrollment within 5 years, Ohio RN license, and BLS certification; one year of clinical experience preferred. You will lead, mentor staff, participate in quality improvement and use EPIC or similar EMR.

Qualifications

BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
Current Ohio RN license required.
BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required by unit.
Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with a family-centered focus.
Provide care for physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs of patients of all ages.
Demonstrate leadership and perform professional duties.
Provide patient-centered care and participate in quality improvement and safety duties.
Mentor/precept new staff and support education for clinically related issues.
Promote collaboration with providers and a team-based approach for quality care.
Engage in informatics and technology duties including EMR (EPIC).
May be assigned to different Akron Children's Hospital areas as needed.
