Job summary

Akron Childrens Hospital in Ohio is seeking a Staff Nurse for a part-time 24 hours per week position onsite. The role focuses on delivering nursing care grounded in pediatric principles, with emphasis on family-centered services for patients across ages.

You will plan, implement, and evaluate care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to quality improvement. BSN and Ohio RN license required, with BLS certification; prior pediatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN is required or must be obtained within five years from date of hire.
• Current RN license in Ohio is required.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required by department.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
• Onsite location: Akron Children’s Hospital enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care with a focus on family-centered care for individuals or groups of patients.
• Provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of all patients.
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties.
• Perform patient-centered care duties.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety duties.
• Help educate staff and may precept new employees.
• Support provider staff and promote collaboration for efficient operation, quality care, and pediatric patient outcomes.
• Perform systems-based practice and informatics duties.
• Staff may be temporarily assigned to areas across Akron Children’s Hospital as needed.
• Other duties as required.
