Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Speech Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallowing disorders within the Pediatrics: O/P Acute Therapy department. The role requires a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology, state licensure, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited school.
• Licensure as Speech Language Pathologist in the practicing state (or eligible).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and conducts a speech and language evaluation.
• Establishes a written plan of care and implements individualized treatment.
• Monitors outcomes and adjusts treatment based on response.
• Plans for discharge with home programs and family teaching.
• Completes documentation, billing, and scheduling per policy.
• Maintains patient safety and infection control during therapy.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• May supervise non-licensed personnel.
