Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Registration and Scheduling Clerk to register and schedule patients by phone, communicate with families and clinicians, and ensure accurate data entry in the electronic medical record.

You will verify insurance, gather demographic information, and coordinate with the call center and clinic to keep schedules on track, handling pre-authorizations and scheduling changes with courtesy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Associate’s degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years in patient registration and scheduling
• Experience with medical insurance screening and verification preferred

Responsibilities

• Register and schedule patients' appointments by telephone.
• Communicate courteously with parents, patients, physicians and staff.
• Validate patient information and ensure accurate data entry in the system.
• Schedule within departmental guidelines and coordinate with the clinic.
• Serve as liaison between the Call Center and the clinic.
• Enter accurate notes and complete documentation for registrations.
