Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking May 2027 Respiratory Graduates to join Advocate Children's Hospital in Park Ridge on a per diem/registry basis. The role offers a flexible schedule to accommodate school duties within a pediatric hospital setting, including a world-class NICU.

You will work under supervision on basic respiratory therapy procedures and equipment management in a busy pediatric environment. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and may hold BLS

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Respiratory Therapy.
• No prior work experience required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers by AHA is required/licensure expected.
• Illinois externs must be within 3 years of enrollment in an approved program.
• Wisconsin externs: transition into graduate respiratory therapist position.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist, perform basic respiratory therapy procedures (oxygen, pulse oximetry, aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry).
• Organize and maintain respiratory therapy equipment and supplies per department standards.
• Collect, clean, and reassemble equipment following infection prevention guidelines.
