Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Vermont is seeking a phlebotomist to draw pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Under supervision of Site Manager, you will perform venipuncture and finger sticks, handle sample processing, and prepare for courier pickup and central lab testing.

Responsibilities include documenting encounters, labeling tubes, performing waived tests, and maintaining clean, stocked lab areas. Requirements: high school diploma, six months phlebotomy experience, BLS certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months phlebotomy experience.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association or agreement to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient flow.
• Perform venipuncture and finger sticks; spin blood and prepare specimens for courier pickup/laboratory testing.
• Perform dipstick urinalysis; collect urine and throat culture specimens and prepare for submission to the Laboratory.
• Label tubes and samples, process and prepare labs and routine tests for pickup and delivery to Central Lab Provider.
• Document and process encounter forms, lab requisitions and all necessary paperwork for third party billing.
