Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. Under supervision of the Site Manager, you will draw pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients by venipuncture and finger sticks, perform waived testing, and handle routine clerical tasks to prepare specimens for processing.

Position requires a high school diploma, at least six months of phlebotomy experience, and BLS certification within one year.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy skills and patient interaction experience required.
• Maintain accuracy in specimen labeling and processing.

Responsibilities

• Draw venipuncture and finger sticks for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Spin blood and prepare specimens for courier pickup and laboratory testing.
• Perform dipstick urinalysis and collect urine and throat culture specimens.
• Conduct urine pregnancy tests and stool tests.
• Perform electrocardiograms, spirometry, holter monitoring, and vision/hearing testing.
• Maintain laboratory area cleanliness and proper waste handling.
• Complete paperwork for third-party billing and ensure proper labeling of samples.
