Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a phlebotomy technician to draw pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients and perform waived tests and clerical tasks in preparation for laboratory processing.

Under supervision, you will monitor patient flow, perform venipuncture and finger sticks, and prepare specimens for courier pickup to the Central Lab. Requires a high school diploma and six months phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• Six months phlebotomy experience required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and finger sticks and prepare specimens for testing.
• Monitor patient flow and manage routing to the Central Lab.
• Perform dipstick urinalysis and collect urine/throat culture specimens.
• Document encounters and lab requisitions for billing.
• Label samples and prepare tests for courier pickup.
