Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw pediatric, adult and geriatric patients via venipuncture and finger sticks, and to perform waived tests and clerical duties in preparation for laboratory processing. This full-time position covers day shifts with duties including specimen prep, testing, and data entry.

Required experience includes at least six months of phlebotomy and BLS certification (or willing to obtain within one year).

Formación

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months phlebotomy experience.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association or agreement to obtain within one year required.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor patient flow and prepare specimens for testing.
• Perform venipuncture and finger sticks; spin blood and prepare specimens for courier pickup/laboratory testing.
• Perform dipstick urinalysis; collect urine and throat culture specimens and prepare for submission to the Laboratory.
• Perform urine pregnancy tests and stool occult blood tests.
• Perform electrocardiograms, spirometry, Holter monitor testing, vision and hearing testing.
• Maintain laboratory area: housekeeping, hazardous waste handling and stocking of supplies.
• Document and process encounter forms, lab requisitions and paperwork for third party billing.
• Label tubes/samples and prepare labs for pickup and delivery to Central Lab Provider.
