Job summary

Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Reston, VA (Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm, with alternating Saturdays 8:00am-12:00pm). Pediatric experience is required; duration is 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

The role covers blood draws, specimen labeling, processing, and documentation, while ensuring compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations. Training and benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients and/or other specimen collection procedures.
• Demonstrate technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles; ensure 100% accuracy in test requisitions and labeling.
• Package specimens for transport and store specimen according to required temperature and protocol.
