Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. in Reston, VA is hiring a contract Phlebotomist (6180) with potential for permanent hire. Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00–4:30, every other Sat 8:00–12:00.

Projected duration: 3 months with possibility for extension. The role requires blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, maintaining accuracy, and communicating the venipuncture process to patients. Must comply with OSHA/DEP guidelines; pediatric experience is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and correctly label specimens.
• Centrifuge specimens and maintain equipment.
• Record maintenance data and update patient information.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure specimen integrity.
