Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Phlebotomist in Austin, TX for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent hire. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. Responsibilities include performing venipuncture, labeling, and proper specimen handling in a fast-paced lab setting.

Minimum qualifications include phlebotomy certification and 6 months of venipuncture experience, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique with needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accuracy.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure specimen integrity per protocols.
• Attend annual department trainings and respond to inquiries.
